Embroidery Vintage Doll Dress!

A friend gave me this little purple linen dress a couple of years ago.  I loved it....but, I didn't know what to do with it.  It came with just the white trim and solid purple.

Then I added a little embellishment.  I few pieces of torn embroidered linens....tatting....a little fun hand embroidery.....button....

and a cute little purple dress as art!

Folk Art Sock!

This little sock has been in my stash for years.  I only have one, and the side you don't see is almost gone because this little toe coverer has no doubt been a buffet for a fleet of moths.  The colors were so fashion forward for the time of its making.  It's a funky blue and green....quite popular today.  Although, I found it in a warehouse attic with many things dated early 1900's.

Next to the collection came this delightful long, skinny ledger.

What better to put on it than this little sock?

I added a few embellishments...and there she is.  A precious piece of folk art.....a SOCK!

Just a tiny teaser about my latest project....

every day for the next few days will be small snippets of a new project that I finished today.  Slowly...but, surely the finished project will be revealed.

Paper Doll Border!

The studio is slowly coming together.  Today, my college roommate was visiting and she gave me a hand.  My paper doll collection has been growing....and growing.  I really had no idea this many precious little paper bodies were in the box.

This morning all the little girls and boys became THE most adorable border on the planet!

There is only enough for one wall, but how incredibly delightful are these little peeps?  My initial desire was to make art from them one at a time...but, oh no, these guys and gals will hang in all their paper beauty glory as a wall border for a wee while.

Needle Work Banner Mash-Up!

Just finished this little needle work banner mash-up....(I have no better name).  Just pieced miscellaneous snippets of embroidered stuff and some of my own all merged together.  I think the term "mash-up" is quite appropriate in the description.

It all hangs from an old vintage knitting needle.

A little close up of the mash-up!

Food Truck Court!

Food Truck Court is happening!  Just down from my studio a few blocks is a new eating adventure in my fair city.  Today was my first day to give it whirl.  Guess what...it was edible awesome! For lunch I had:
one catfish taco
one spicy BBQ taco

from Rock-n-Tacos...the delightfully decorated taco stand below.

and I had nachos from the California Smothered Burrito!  Delish!

and my little friend had a turkey sandwich from Nater's...she said, "waaay better than your average turkey sandwich!"  Quite a compliment from a picky palate.

Beautiful day topped at mid-day with food truck yummies!
