I Miss A Tree!

"Did you ever see an unhappy horse?
Did you ever see a bird that had the blues?
One reason why birds and horses are not unhappy
is because they are not trying to impress other birds and horses."
-Dale Carnegie
The storm recently attacked a very large and lovely oak tree in my back yard. On its way down it took off a corner of my house. It is finally all repaired and the remains of the tree are sitting on the curb. This tree provided shade for years...homes for many birds and squirrels...beauty for all...and lots of oxygen for everyone. I'm not sure I ever did that much for the tree, but it sure gave a lot to me. Just thought using a few twigs in some art would preserve it in some small way. I miss the old tree. Isn't it odd that a person can get attached to a tree?

Not at all, the neighbor cut down a perfectly lovely tree that slightly hung over our back fence.

The birds LOVED that tree. I, in turn loved it b'cuz they did.

I still miss that darn tree, wonder if the birds do too??????

I totally understand. We live in the family homestead and this last year, many of the big trees had to come down. It changed the look of our property...and I miss them very much. However...I am not so concerned when a storm blows in.
We are in process of replacing them.

Your work is so good! Love every piece.

Oh that is lovely, great way to preserve a bit of that tree! I saved a few sprigs from our Christmas tree...

Nope, not odd at all. My mom is still mourning her favorite shade tree in the back yard. Lightning got it first and then several years later the wind took out the rest.
