Fez...Fez Hooray!
This is my latest find....a FEZ! I've always wanted one. There is something appealing about the red felt flower pot shape...the sparkly letters...the sword...and the infamous giant black dangling tassel. Plus, it brings back fond memories of attending holiday parades with the crazy Shriner clowns zipping around on the mini cars...scaring the life out of parade attendees standing along the street.
I've had the fez sitting on my mantle for about a week now...no one has noticed. I feel certain this particular doo-dad would create conversation, if only someone would be a wee bit observant. We will see how long this takes....fez..fez...hooray!

A Solitary Tree!
A single tree in the middle of a parking lot surrounded by a flea market.
Nothing better...nor more picturesque.

What Do You Think?
"We are one another's angels."
-anonymous
Are these not the most beautiful angels? I found them at an antique store this past weekend. The color is spectacular, stand about 4 feet tall and each is so pristine. The little candle is a bonus item!
The image appears to be a decal of some sort mounted on plywood and cut. They are identical. The giant block of wood weighs about 10 pounds and clearly allows these little beauties to stand. I can't wait to set them out at Christmas....but, I'm strongly considering that they might need to watch over me year round. What do you think?

Little Baby Eggs!
"The bird a nest, the spider a web, man friendship."
-William Blake
Only two weeks ago I placed my annual summer arrangement on the door. Within seven days I could not exit my front door without hearing the flutter of a little bird very near. The ultimate sign the door garnish had become something else, was the day the UPS man came with a delivery.
My sweet Daisy heard the truck, so I knew it was parked in front of my house...I went to the door to greet the driver, and as he rang the bell, a bird caused him to flinch...duck...and yell an interesting array of phrases. Hmmmm...first clue, something was up. I then preceded to look a little closer into the arrangement. This is what I saw.... then the final reason a six ounce bird was willing to attack a 200 pound UPS man....

Chairs!
"I had three chairs in my house,
one for solitude,
two for friendship,
three for society.
-Thoreau
Had the distinct pleasure this weekend of spending time with a dear friend. We did a little junking....flea marketing....antiquing...general assessing of other peoples used stuff. Relived some memories, and certainly made some new ones. We both concluded that a theme always seems to emerge as you do certain activities. When thumbing through my pictures....guess what kept surfacing? Chairs. This utilitarian item is quite diverse. The use is the same....the aesthetic is quite different. Enjoy the chairs with artistic eyes!

Where Thou Art...
-Emily Dickinson
Currently, the vacation from school has left us quite busy...and not exactly at home. I can't believe we are half-way into June...and the largest amount of time spent in my home is between 12am and 6am...and then we are off. The summer is sliding by...and art is finding a difficult time getting its fair share of time. But, I did manage to finish the above...once again, some twigs from the tree (a victim of a bad storm). But, I have scheduled a little jaunt of junking this weekend. Beware......
