QUEST:  3

Yes....a quest for beautiful salad forks.  My current stainless steel received when you get married set just will not do.  I just loved the middle cut-out between the tines....yummy.

The quest to acquire appropriate iceberg lettuce eating tools.....quested.

Quest: 2

"The quest for certainty blocks the search for meaning.
Uncertainty is the very condition to impel man
to unfold his powers."
-Erich Fromm

Quests....

"Finding oneself is the quest of life."
-anonymous

Over the next few days I can't wait to share some of the fantastic junking finds acquired over the summer.  The pile is building...and today began the process of weaving it into my existing pile.  As you collect more junk, it is of utmost importance to give your home the essence that the new junk has been here all the time with the old junk.  Certainly a QUEST!

QUEST :1
This particular pile of the most adorable yellow, duck clothes pins was certainly an unknown quest.  I had no idea this completely utilitarian work horse was available oozing with this much cuteness!  Who knew?

Domino Necklace Class!

This was the jewelry making class held at the art show.  The stage of the auditorium was our place of creation.  It was really nice... a beautiful mural on the back wall...and elevated area above the art vendor booths...and the flurry of activity provided with an art show all around.
The perfect creative environment!

Everyone arrived and went straight to work.

This was the end result.

Great class...creative people...fun environment.
Tomorrow the canvas class!

Art Show!

Finally....I have now posted the photos of my booth at the Maury Regional Hospital Art Show.  I have never participated in an "art show only" type event.  I was not too sure how I would fair...but, I had a fantastic time and made many sales!  Over all it was great.

The booths were walled with peg board...loved it...and it was only 4ft. deep.  Absolutely a perfect size!

My friend let me borrow her two tiered white table and it was perfect to display shelf art.

She also came up with this great stick bundle to poke into an old tin trash can and hang some itty-bitty pieces of art.

Great show!

Mirror, Mirror On The Wall!

"If you have a good friend, you don't need a mirror."
-Bente Borsum

Found this mirror at an estate sale about two years ago.  As you can see I'm digging up things from the past and giving it a re-vamp.  I loved the shape and the ornamentation.  But, was far less enthused with the color....a dingy goldish...brownish, boring shade of gold leaf.  No doubt, it would be reinvented.

Now, as always, the price of any good piece of junk is very important.  This adorable...perfect size mirror was a mere $10.  Could not pass it up!
Now, after about six layers of blue, green, taupe, more blue, another shade of green and a shimmery taupe paint...this is the end result.  Each layer was rubbed...scraped...and buffed.  Truly, the beauty of doing this is discovering the end result that pleases you.  There is no order of process...just do until you like.  Love that!

I found this precious little frozen Charlotte at one of my favorite Etsy stores, the artist Jeanette Janson.  She has such delightful little goodies!

Always believe in the art of reinventing!

Paint Your Own Nature!

"Every artist dips his brush in his own soul,
and paints his own nature into his pictures."
-Henry Beecher
