Had a little stomach virus hit the household on Christmas Eve!  Ahhhhhh!  The washing machine has not stopped...a large number of Lysol and hand sanitizer cans and bottles are flying through this house from every angle.  Purex is in every load of everything!  I am currently the lone survivor!  Keep fingers crossed!

This is my latest Christmas gift for all my peeps.  Simple black tote with a vintage quilt square stitched to the side.  Dangling from the handle is a wood puzzle piece.  Really cute to use for groceries, hobbies, and just about anything.  Very durable! Handmade and quite useable.

Shared a yummy meal with friends tonight!  We all laughed and filled our tummies in such a fun way.  Nothing better or healthier than sharing good food and friendship.

This little art does remind me a wee bit of the holidays, for it is a time when families....or generations get together.  I loved this old photograph!  I myself am an only child, so I don't have the pleasure of a first hand understanding of the relationship between siblings, but some how I observe a hint of "bossy pants" with the chick leaning over Mom.  I think she is the Mommy of the baby in Grandma's lap, and she feels the need to constantly give instruction to everyone.  I sense uber attitude.  And...I also feel the Mom and sister (on left) are quite capable of lifting the force field and totally repelling anything "bossy pants" has to say.  

I guess this whole scenario above is why I love photography.  The flat one dimensional image gives me the ability to invent any story I want.  The reality is unlikely to be determined and my opinion can have no boundaries.  Cerebral visual creativity.

I was a huge fan of the view master back in the day.  This little vintage pre-view master card above is beautiful.  I have sewn a little tid-bit on one side over the image, tapped a few grommets in the top and there you have a precious little piece of art/ornament.  These cards are just cute in a little stand as a "sit around"... you can never have too many things around your house that do absolutely nothing.  Vintage ephemera is the best!

We are in the home stretch...only eight more days until the end of the contest, and the beginning of one of the most wonderful days of the year.  Today, I was pilfering in my stash of postcards...found this poinsettia and thought it might be a fun giveaway.  Note the postal date...January 6, 1909.  It has been around a while...only 1 cent to mail.  Oh...memories.

Had a minor mix-up on getting my Christmas cards, but they arrived today!  I have addressed all evening.  It will cost a wee bit more than 1 cent in postage per card.  My honey suggested I computerize the whole process....NO WAY!  Some things are sacred, and the art of Christmas card mailing lies in the tip of a fine point red Sharpie.  Only hand signed and addressed cards!  Technology is my fave...but, we must all have a purist moment...this would be mine.

Beware the bigger Christmas gifts are coming!  Have a handmade tote....pillow....art!  Random days of goodies are a comin'....

Spent the day at a wonderful Christmas Program in Knoxville, TN.  The symphony, choral society and children's choir performed with Christmas precision.  Certainly a fun way to get in the spirit of the season. 

I am having a wee bit of creative withdrawal...way too much going on and no time to play in my creative space.  And...it looks like a flea market, garage sale and Hobby Lobby blew up in it.  Absolutely, no organization going on at all.  Almost to the point of I dread going in there...but, yearn to do it.
