Faber Castell and 100 Proof Press!

Sorry I'm late!  My neighbor severed the cable cord while doing yard work!  I am finally up now!

This was my lucky week...two great companies that offer super-dee-duper products and all I had to do was use them!

First:  Faber Castell
A wonderful packet of art pencils in a beautiful fall colored palette! Which began the foundation of my project color palette!

Secondly: 100 Proof Press
Two great stamps from the uber special 100 Proof Press!
opium poppy stamp #5868 (I only used the blackened portion of the stamp for this project)

Then a quick visit to a local box store...pick up the retro notebooks we all have used at some point or another for only......99 cents!

The modley cover of the ledger was what I was trying to duplicate with the poppy stamp.  I layered different angles of the stamp along the edge of a piece of golden felt...and it didn't look too far off.
Next, I sewed a layer of fabric to the felt.

Now the fun part!
1.  colored a piece of watercolor paper with the golden paint stick.  It was like the texture of chapstick...eazy peazy!  Then I used my index finger to smudge the layered colored pencils over the paint stick.  It all looked quite cool together.

2.  Next came the yummy film strip stamp.  Used the fat black brush marker to ink my stamp.....very clean method of applying ink!

3.  Then my signature artsy stitchey think I always do...a.k.a. golden felt stitched to the watercolor paper.

4.  Glue it all to the front of the notebook!

Had mucho fun with my new tools of the trade!
